Why are my LED bulbs humming and buzzing? Is this safe?
Unlike incandescent bulbs, LED bulbs have electrical components inside of them that can make a humming or buzzing noise when the bulbs are on, especially when they’re dimmed. There are various reasons as to why there may be noise, but a small amount of noise is normal. An electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer will almost always silence noise from LED products. Please note that a neutral connection is required. The ENERGY STAR requirement for LED noise is that 25 dB or less be emitted per bulb at 24 inches.
